CJHRC operates the only centralized housing resource center within Somerset and Hunterdon Counties. The Housing Resource Center is a HUD-certified Housing Counseling agency that provides clients with information to overcome their housing obstacles. We use our extensive resources to find affordable housing for families, individuals, senior citizens and those with special needs. The Housing Resource Center assists clients both individually and in group programs annually…at no charge.

HABcore currently affordably and supportively houses approximately 400 people, including 100 families and 150 children. HABcore develops, operates, and administers affordable housing in different models from Class C Boarding Homes to multi-family buildings to Rapid Re-Housing for all populations and has utilized funding sources such as the National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York’s (FHLBNY) Affordable Housing Program (AHP), The NJ Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (HMFA) Special Needs and Sandy Trust Funds, Corporation for Supportive Housing bridge loans, as well as NJ DCA funds and SRAP subsidies. HABcore also collaborates with developers such as the Walters Group and Somerset Development, and social service providers such as the Mental Health Association, CPC Behavioral Healthcare, and the VNA.
