AHPNJ is an organization for people involved in the field of affordable housing and as such does not provide direct assistance to individuals looking for affordable housing; however, below are some resources for individuals looking for housing. We do our best to provide accurate and up-to-date resources, but as an all volunteer organization that is not always possible. In addition to the resources shown below, you can call 211 or the Board of Social Services in your county for assistance.

Recommendation when looking for affordable housing: Put your name on many waiting lists. Lists are not shared between towns, administrative agents, etc., so putting your name on all available lists will increase your chances of finding housing.

• Administrative Agents in Monmouth and Surrounding Counties (683 KB)

  In New Jersey Administrative Agents may be responsible for the marketing, renting, and reselling of affordable housing units and the certification of individuals/families who want to apply for affordable housing. They are a good point of contact for someone looking for housing.

  Provides a listing of affordable housing rentals and resales in over 40 New Jersey municipalities.

• Central Jersey Housing Resource Center

  CJHRC provides outreach programs and services that result in acceptance, recognition and availability of quality affordable housing.

• Housing and Community Development Network of NJ

  The Housing and Community Development Network of New Jersey is a statewide association of more than 250 affordable housing and community development corporations, individuals and other organizations that support the creation of housing and economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income New Jerseyans.

  This website was developed to connect New Jersey renters, landlords, & homeowners to information available from multiple sources to assist in preventing eviction.

  Piazza & Associates, Inc. serves as the Administrative Agent for affordable housing in more than 80 municipalities throughout New Jersey.  In addition, the HousingQuest.com Newsletter notifies households of new and upcoming rent and purchase opportunities.

• NJ Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency

  The New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (HMFA) is dedicated to increasing the availability of and accessibility to safe, decent and affordable housing to families in New Jersey. In some cases this may mean working with traditional affordable housing developments, serving New Jersey’s most needy families.
