HUD Begins Process of Expanding RAD

Posted January 14th, 2015

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has begun the process of implementing the significant expansion of the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD), approved in the recently passed fiscal year 2015 spending bill. HUD expects that the authorization to convert up to 185,000 units of public housing under the first component of RAD will allow the agency to approve all RAD applications currently on the wait list, as well as an additional 8,000 units for which applications will be approved on a first-come, first-served basis.
