NLIHC Releases Alignment Report

Posted January 14th, 2015

Last month, the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) released a report, Aligning Federal Low Income Housing Programs with Housing Need. NLIHC’s Alignment Project seeks to determine how existing federal housing resources are being used and how they might be better aligned with the need for housing among extremely low-income (ELI) households. The report, the first in the project’s upcoming series of publications,   found that multiple forms of housing assistance are often needed to make homes affordable for ELI households (e.g., both Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (Housing Credits) and Housing Choice Vouchers). In addition, the report includes five case studies of affordable housing developers who achieved deep affordability in their properties without relying on vouchers. - See more at: http://www.enterprisecommunity.com/news-and-events-newsletters-capitol-express-january-5-2015#nlihc
