Abandoned Properties Rehabilitation Act hearing

The Network is pleased to announce that the Assembly Housing and Community Development Committee will host a hearing on March 16th at 2pm in the State House Annex on the success New Jersey communities are having using the Abandoned Properties Rehabilitation Act, enacted in 2004, and related tools. The Committee will also hear about solutions to ongoing challenges and the need for additional tools to address problem properties, including a land bank. Lavea Brachman, executive director of the Greater Ohio Policy Center will provide the committee with information about Ohio's achievements using land banks. The hearing will also feature remarks from policy experts, non-profit developers and municipal leaders who are working to turn vacant places into vibrant spaces.
