Fannie, Freddie to Start Paying Into Low-Income Housing Fund

The fund was created in 2008 but has been empty because of the financial condition of Fannie and Freddie. However, Fannie and Freddie have returned to profitability and money will be set aside before earnings are calculated.  States will soon be able to receive funds to subsidize rental housing for those living in extreme poverty.
